I've been a fan of all things Harley Quinn for as long as I can remember. A kid with a desire to be a Psychologist when I grew up, with a love of all things Villain, my queer little heart pretty much just fell in love with her.

My girlfriend and I actually saw this movie in theaters with my mom for her birthday - it was a ton of fun and I'm so glad we went - and because Media Monday is basically just my excuse to gush about movies I like so that I have a reason to blog, here are my thoughts in no particular order:

I get why it was named Bird's of Prey but I feel like it was a bad decision for non-comic-book-fans

Written by a woman, directed by a woman, produced by a woman, acted by women? Sign my gay ass right up!

♥  Jurnee Smollett-Bel as Black Canary was an A++ decision (in general the diverse casting is really cool)

Margot Robbie is a fucking blessing and I'm so glad she pushed for this film

I really love how the Joker is never even seen in the film besides like a glimpse from behind which brings me to point two-

Batman is like? Never seen? It never says where he is? Like did he go on vacation? Or is he just kinda chillin in the BatCave and when Alfred says Harley and the Joker broke up and she's going on a rampage he's kind of just like "Good for you Harleen" and sips on a cocktail? (Girlfriend: Or you know, Batman's just sexist and doesn't care about Harley just Joker - which is a big mistake.)

A word of warning though that if you've ever been a woman who has been sexually taken advantage of, there is a very uncomfortable scene - bad guys suck

Bad guys facing off other bad guys - completely okay with murder, no big deal, none of that dumbass 'take em to the cops' bullshit

All in all, good shit, watch it if you get a chance, and let me know in the comments what you think!
