Amber K - are you planning to publish more?
Absolutely! The plan is to have an entire series: Something Just Like Love, which will include Loving Lakyn, Just Juliet, Saving Scott, and Losing Lena
Jayli J - What made you want to write such a serious lgbt story (Loving Lakyn)?
I wish that I had a beautiful answer to this, something about shedding light on the importance of mental health for LGBT youth (which is incredibly important). But the truth with Loving Lakyn is that I just really wanted to write about Lakyn, and his story happens to be serious and important.
Jay K - What got you started / what inspired you to write Just Juliet and Loving Lakyn?
There's a long answer to this that I usually cover in interviews, so I won't bother with it here - the short answer is that I never really planned to write Just Juliet (which came first). It was a side project to keep me writing while I worked on the novel I wanted to publish. In the end though, Just Juliet was the book that actually got finished. Lakyn is the reason why Loving Lakyn exists - I loved him too much in JJ not to give him his own book.
Kirsten M - Did you have a character that was particularly hard to write?
Juliet. I'm not sure why, it's just difficult to get inside of her head. Which is why there hasn't been a book in her POV yet haha.
